🎯 Goal: Discuss prevention resources such as health and wellness programs, helplines, and other community resources, explain how to seek assistance, share resources available to the employee’s family
As Westside Logistics launched its next phase of substance use support, Benefits Coordinator Michelle Goodthunder led the charge on Step One: Resource Integration.
They proposed installing information kiosks across the business campus to provide employees with easy access to substance use education, prevention materials, EAP resources, and community support guides.
Michelle’s vision was rooted in visibility and dignity. By placing resources in high-traffic areas—like wellness rooms and cafeterias—they aimed to normalize help-seeking and reduce stigma. The kiosks would quietly invite employees to explore support options without needing to ask.
In parallel, Michelle began reviewing Westside’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) contract. Their goal was to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of outpatient substance use disorder counseling services, including both individual and group sessions. They wanted to demonstrate the tangible value of investing in these services—not just financially, but in terms of lives improved, absenteeism reduced, and workplace morale strengthened.
Michelle’s initiative laid the groundwork for a more integrated, compassionate workplace. By embedding resources into the physical and cultural fabric of Westside, they helped transform support from something hidden into something proudly visible.
- “Help me create a comprehensive resource guide that connects our wellness benefits with local addiction support services”
- “What’s the most effective way to explain complex benefit navigation for substance use treatment to employees and families?”
- “Generate scripts for benefits representatives to compassionately guide employees seeking substance use disorder resources”
💡 Pro-tip: Create a one-page resource card (physical and digital) with all helpline numbers, websites, and access instructions. Include QR codes for discrete mobile access. Make it generic enough that employees feel comfortable keeping it visible.
